Appointment Information for Horses

Appointments last around one hour and you will need to be available to hold your horse during this time. Most horses relax very quickly during the treatment as it is non invasive and Donna always tries to work below their comfort threshold, every horse will have their own unique personality and experience however.

If it is the first time that Donna has seen your horse you will need to fill in and return her registration form at least a week before your appointment and Donna will need to contact your normal veterinary practice to request your horse’s medical history.

If you can arrive at least 10 minutes before your appointment this will give your horse time to settle and relax in their new surroundings.

Donna does her treatment both in and outdoors depending on the weather and the horses preferences. At the end of the day having the horse as comfortable and secure as possible is the priority. There will always be an option for either provided though.

If you wish to bring a companion with your horse this is fine as long as you let Donna know when you book so she can ensure there is someone for your companion to go and relax during the treatment.

It is advisable to bring enough hay for your horse to eat during the treatment and the travel as well as your saddle for every treatment. It is good to have a few rug options as well as body temperature may vary more than normal after treatment.

If it is your first appointment, please also being you bridle and any other tack, photos of food bags ect which you think might be useful (Donna may well ask you for details of your horses nutrition).

Donna will never ask you to ride your horse during the appointment (unless you tell her beforehand this is something you specifically want to do) but she will want to see your horse walk and trot in hand and possibly on the lunge.

A minimum of two days of from any exercise and a week without and jumping or hard exercise (like competition) is always recommended after treatment to allow the body time to fully adapt. Some horse may need longer or changes to their exercise programs. Donna will advice on this during the appointment if this is the case.

As Donna sees horses over such a wide area and only uses hand on treatment techniques, she is not able to provide any OOH or emergency care services, please see your normal veterinary practice for this or have a look at the list practices who are able to provide this service on Donna’s behalf.

Appointments cost £140 to be paid by cash or bank transferee either beforehand or on the day of the appointment.

Please be aware that once you have committed to booking an appointment you will then be liable for the full cost of that appointment if you decide to cancel and Donna isn’t able to fill the appointment space elsewhere. She will do everything she can to do this and if there is enough warning it is usually not a problem but last-minute changes may result in you having to pay for the space.

Appointment information for dogs

Please try to arrive at least 10 minutes before your appointment to give your dog time to stretch their legs and settle before treatment.

If it is the first time that Donna has seen your dog you will need to fill in and return her registration form at least a week before your appointment as well as getting permission from your normal veterinary practice for Donna to see them. Verbal permission directly to yourself is enough. Donna will need to contact then to request their medical history.

It is always advisable to avoid any big exercise for at least two days after treatment to give the body time to adapt, these incudes long walks, running or playing with other dogs, swimming and throwing balls. If you dog needs any longer-term changes to their exercise Donna will advise this during the treatment.

As Donna sees dogs over such a wide area and only uses hand on treatment techniques, she is not able to provide any OOH or emergency care services, please see your normal veterinary practice for this

Appointments last around 30 minutes cost £50 to be paid by cash or bank transferee either beforehand or on the day of the appointment
